Evidence that the Holocaust must be taught is being seen for the first time in America's ghettos. Like the Warsaw ghetto during the Holocaust, these communities are often dirty and poorly managed. The buildings are littered with trash and infested with insects and vermin. In his book Coming Up Black: Patterns of Ghetto Socialization, David Schulz, a well-known social researcher, reveals how the ghettos reflect Warsaw's overpopulation, as more than 10,000 people "live in filth" (Schulz 4). Correlations are established between the lack of adequate education and repetitive phenomena. For example, most adolescents do not have a stable environment that promotes learning.
