    Howard Zinn writes from the point of view of minorities mistreated by whites while Larry Schweikart and Michael Allen write from the more traditional historical point of view, that of the explorers and settlers. . Zinn delves deep into the injustice of how white people treat minorities while Schweikart and Allen choose to explain both viewpoints equally. Neither author writes a more correct book and people need both sides to fully understand American history. Zinn intends to give voice to these minorities that historians often neglect. It attempts to shock the reader with the harsh reality of what happened in the early days of American settlement. Zinn effectively supports his information with credible primary and secondary sources about the period, including writings from Columbus himself. The perspective he takes helps shine a light on the injustice, and some would say evil, of early American history. However, Zinn focuses mainly on the negative aspects of exploration and rarely mentions the good things the English did, or the positive aspects of their exploration. Schweikart and Allen attempt to balance the perspective of American history in their book. They also provide historical evidence to support their claims and use facts to argue their point of view. They focus on
