    Things such as sex and crime can lead them astray. Religion offers a kind of promise that if one stays away from these things and follows religion, they will be promised an afterlife that everyone would wish for. In a way, the Church tells people what they want to hear in the hopes that a person stays engaged. This often gets out of hand for some religions. Suicide bombers are an example. Another social problem is military aid to Afghanistan. The strength of the Canadian and American dollars is decreasing. The United States is actually inferior to Canada in the value of the dollar because the United States continues to spend money it should not be spending. Many citizens of the United States are protesting the war instead of supporting their own country. Unions have changed considerably since their inception. There were supposed to be things like better health care, more employees on employer deals, and just overall improved labor regulations. However, with growing demands for productivity, companies are turning to poorer countries to manufacture their products for them. With things like trace lead in children's toys, people are starting to disbelieve these once trusted big companies. Issues like this make it difficult for our young people to shop at Christmas
