Jessica was openly Jewish and was ashamed to sign in public while Harry was the complete opposite. However, they managed to overcome their differences. In 1962 they bought a house and during the year Jessica's family moved from England to America and moved in with her and Harry. After buying the house, Harry agreed for Jessica to become pregnant. For months they tried without success. Then Jessica learned she had an underactive thyroid and took medication for it. She was then able to get pregnant. The baby was expected for Christmas, but it didn't happen. Instead, Jessica continued to experience labor pains and went into labor on January 17, 1963. She was taken to the hospital where she stayed all day and night. Doctors determined that her pelvis was too narrow to give birth. She therefore had to undergo a cesarean section. They managed to get the baby out. Jessica and Harry were now parents. They would name their child Eleanor after Eleanor
