The Jewish Holocaust was one of the most horrific and gruesome events in human history. It touched real, ordinary people who are not much different from us. When I was searching for a photo on the Jewish Holocaust website, I wanted to find something that connected me to or reminded me of my own family. I then came across this photo of an elderly woman with a tired expression on her face, hands on her hip, bundled up in warm clothes. When I first saw this photo, my thoughts immediately went to my grandparents, purely because of their ages. I then took a closer look at the two photos and saw similarities and differences that went beyond your age. Between the two photos, the biggest similarities are age and work ethic, and the biggest difference has to be physical appearance. The most obvious similarity between the two photos concerns age. My grandmother is 65 years old and has two grandchildren. Although I don't know exactly how old the woman in the photo is, it is reasonable to assume that she was at least 70 years old at the time the photo was taken.
