Essay / Loganlea SHS Case Study - 1374
According to Figure 44, almost half of the Loganlea area has more than 5,000 jobs, but there are fewer around Loganelea. Compared to Loganlea, Daisy Hill offers relatively fewer employment opportunities (around 2,500 jobs) for area residents. However, neighboring suburbs of Daisy Hill, such as Shailer Park (>5,000 jobs), Springwood (>5,000 jobs), and Slack Creek (approximately 4,000 jobs) offer many positions. It is likely that, compared to their Loganlea counterparts, Daisy Hill residents have more employment opportunities if they drive to work. From Figure 45, this indicates that the employment rate in Daisy Hill is much higher than that of Loganlea and the average rate of Logan and the unemployment rate is lower than that of Loganlea and the average of the whole region. In contrast, Loganlea's employment rate is well below the average rate and the suburb's unemployment rate is well above average. It appears that although both suburbs are located in a low SES area, their economic situations are completely different. In particular, within the economic system of Logan City, Daisy Hills' position is at the top while Loganlea's is at the top.
