    A teacher who truly wants to help must first control all his homophobic tendencies and ensure that they do not affect the way he interacts with his student. This can be done by punishing homophobic behavior whenever it is witnessed or reported. Additionally, as a teacher, just being someone to talk to can help LGBTQ students. If the teacher wants to make changes throughout the school and not just the classroom, these are options. The first is to support or create a program specifically designed to help keep LGBTQ students safe. The other option is to suggest that all teachers undergo training to help them better understand how to handle situations involving LGBTQ students. Administrators can create and enforce policies to stop all anti-homosexual actions toward all students. They have the power to make learning anti-homophobia work compulsory for everyone who works within the school.
