Historical JesusThis article is an analysis and reconstruction of Jesus the man, to meditate on the human life of Jesus Christ. History shows that he was a real person and this essay will examine important aspects of the historical Jesus of Nazareth as the disciples knew and understood him. So it's basically about considering Jesus as a real person who lived his life in Palestine, stating the historical situation and the different religious groups of the time. This essay will also highlight Jesus' beliefs, the person he claimed to be, and the reason for his actions and thoughts. By providing a historical core of important facts and events from his life until his scandalous death, we will paint a portrait of Jesus in the Jewish society of his time. The land where Jesus fulfilled his mission was called Palestine, which is now part of Palestine. Modern State of Israel. Rome was then a city-state, ruling large areas of land around the Mediterranean Sea, including Palestine. Herod's family who ruled Palestine during Jesus' lifetime were from Idumea, a province in southern Palestine. At the time of Jesus' birth, Palestine was ruled by the Roman vassal king Herod the Great, who actually attempted to kill Jesus despite knowing of his existence (Aulen, G.1973). Writing about the life of Jesus and the history of events that took place during his time can be difficult because the gospels that were composed were more of a collection of writings independent of each other rather than a simple chronological biography of Jesus. In this sense, it would be impossible to produce a biography of Jesus; nevertheless this does not prevent the possibility of reconstituting, through historical facts, the contours of the character...... middle of paper ......to a cross. He was crucified between two thieves and died (Knox, J. 1967). Even looking at the historical facts and events of Jesus' life, we can see the importance of this character and the consequences of his existence. However, the historical Jesus cannot simply and fully identify the nature of Jesus. Jesus Christ must be looked at with faith to understand the true nature of his ways and the purpose of what he accomplished in his life.BIBLIOGRAPHY Comblin, J. (1976) Jesus of Nazareth.
