    I am quite humbled that child R felt comfortable enough to tell me something that he must have found extremely difficult because he has a strong sense of loyalty to his family. Upon reflection, I now realize that this level of relationship was established because I consistently used the techniques of person-centered practice. I spent time listening to Child R to better understand what he was feeling. I think Child R liked being the center of attention and liked being treated as an equal, from what Child R told me he rarely experiences these things. Additionally, not only did Child R tell me about it, but he himself always made a concentrated effort to meet with me and informed me that he found the meeting beneficial.
