During these years, global sales of organic products amount to approximately $20 billion per year and with an annual increase of 'around 20% in the North American and European markets (Raynolds 725). Organic food is becoming popular and more and more people are starting to show interest in organic products. The purpose of this article is to give customers some suggestions when deciding to purchase organic foods and to inform these customers with basic knowledge about organic foods and organic techniques. This article attempts to present some comparisons between controversial foods and organic foods in terms of agriculture, techniques, microbial aspects, etc. In addition, it will also indicate the public and industry opinion, common concerns and customer preferences so far. After our investigation, we find that organic foods contain less pesticide residue and some organic foods contain more nutritional value. However, the risk of microbiological contamination is higher. A certain nutritional value of some foods is almost the same as that of inorganic foods, such as strawberries. Also, there are some reasons that prevent customers from purchasing it, such as high prices. So, by presenting this information, customers can better understand organic foods and thus help them develop a healthier diet. Definition Organic foods must be free of artificial food additives and processed with fewer artificial methods, materials and conditions, such as chemical maturation. , food irradiation and genetically modified ingredients. Pesticides are permitted provided they are not synthetic.
