Essay / How Terrorists Attacked the Pentagon and the World Trade Center
The terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon knocked down unsuspecting citizens and put them on their well-used butts. This recent tragedy is linked to the story Pricilla and the Wimps by Richard Peck. Pricilla and the Wimps may be a lighter, more comedic story, but it's no less similar. Say no to plagiarism. An example of terrorism is how Monk Klutter and his team ran their collection agency, threatening small and new college students. They (the Monks gang) did this to establish their reputation. The Kobras, as they called themselves, would strut around to give them the "you don't want to bother us" look. Monk had one of his little servants walking behind him, carrying a switchblade that Monk used to give himself manicures. He could very well have used a normal manicure tool, but instead chose to use the knife to display his superiority. The terrorists in New York could have used actual bombs to destroy the World Trade Center, but instead they chose to use our own planes, filled with our citizens, to cause the massive towers to collapse. These actions were used to sow fear among the population, in the hope of preventing an uprising. Terrorists, even if they can frighten the population, must be punished. The Kobras were walking around, terrorizing the students, giving the school bullies after school. They moved around aimlessly, causing trouble and expecting no trouble in return. However, they didn't seem to realize that the problems were staring them in the face, or rather looking down on them. Monk, the one who usually does absolutely no dirty work, reaches out to senselessly cause physical harm to Pricilla's only friend. Monk never got his chance to do the dirty work, before Pricilla humiliated him and left him in his locker for a week. Monk's punishment was entirely appropriate. He tried to go after the wrong person and as a result he suffered. The United States has yet to develop a battle plan against terrorists, but as the old adage goes, let the punishment fit the crime. Even if the United States doesn't lock a group of terrorists in a locker for a week, even though it would be fun to watch, they will be dealt a hand and the punishment will either match the crime or exceed it . All we know is that those responsible will suffer.
