    The environment plays an important role in life. It provides essential necessities for humans, animal and plant life, such as water, food, shelter and aerial resources. Meanwhile, daily human actions and decisions negatively impact the environment, causing pollution, deforestation and overfishing. As the human population increases, it is understood that the environment will change; scenic drives become busy highways, livestock pastures turn into shopping malls, peaceful forests are destroyed to make way for trash. It seems Earth is headed for a dark future. As mere visitors to Earth, humans must recognize the problems facing the environment and take action. In the Environmental Health Sciences (EHS) program, students learn to access, prevent, and control environmental factors that can potentially affect health. Its overall goal is to prepare students for careers as environmental and occupational health specialists. Specialists apply their knowledge, research, implement and draft laws, and lobby on behalf of the environment.1. NEGATIVE IMPACTS1.1 AIR POLLUTIONAir pollution is a negative impact observed across the world. The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) defines it as “the presence of contaminants or polluting substances in the air that interfere with human health or well-being, or produce other harmful environmental effects.” It was not until the 1960s that people began to notice and call attention to the decline in environmental quality.
