However, David saw Charlie cheating in the exam room, he didn't report it. David confronted Charlie about it, Charlie offered David money to keep quiet about the affair but David refused. Eventually, Charlie caused confusion among his classmate by lying against David that it was David who cheated. Due to pressure and the fact that David is not from a high social class, the class voted and agreed that it was David who cheated. David had to report to the principal and prepare to be expelled. However, unbeknownst to David, Chris (another classmate) also saw Charlie cheating in the exam room, so Chris explained the whole truth to the principal. At this point, Charlie was finally kicked out of St. Matthews.
