Essay / Gene Mutation Test - 2253
Gene Mutation in America America has been introducing foreign genes into cows, mice, sheep and pigs for years; there is no reason why this cannot be done in humans as well (“Creating creative children”). Imagine parents choosing their child from a catalog instead of using God's creation. (“Creating creative children”). Every child is born with genes passed down through their family's genetic lineage, not by parents choosing how they want their child to be born. Genetic mutation is basically the future of designer children. Genetic mutation can cure children of all diseases and traits that parents do not want their child(ren) to have (“Creating Creative Children”). In the United States, between 1,000 and 4,000 children will develop a disease before or around age 10 (“Creating Designer Children”). The question is: “Will the child be born healthy or will he have problems later in life”? How far will parents and doctors go to conceive humans (“Creating Creative Children”)? In October 2013, the United States Food and Drug Administration held a two-day public meeting to talk about the genetic mutation involving the human egg and the changes that will be made to it. passed down from generation to generation (“genetically modified children”). Mutating human genes has been practiced since 1990, but most of the practices involved non-inherited genes, called somatic genetic mutations (“genetically modified children”). Somatic gene changes only affect the individual and are not passed on to future generations. These somatic gene mutations therefore do not affect the human genome (“Genetically modified children”). Genetic mutation changed with the first successful birth of 30 attempted genetically mutated children in 2001 ("Genetically Modified Children")....... middle of paper ...... we will make fun of it more. Healthy children should not be genetically modified, they will be fine as they are. Let the child be as he is supposed to be, unless he has an illness that will require him to be constantly hospitalized. Everyone will have a different opinion on the future of genetic engineering and many will agree that healthy children should also be genetically modified, because rich people want their children to be better than everyone else's. There are so many arguments that can be made about genetic engineering and too many viewpoints to take sides, or even take sides at all. Genetic engineering should not play God unless a child is born with a very serious disease. Not everyone will agree that genetic engineering is not a good thing to do on healthy children who have a chance of succeeding in life as they are..
