Many occasions have claimed the notorious title of genocide, but one of the most controversial is found in the case of Darfur. The “Darfur genocide,” as known by many around the world, refers to the mass rape and murder of women, men and even children in the western region of Sudan. This massacre began in 2003 and continues to play a significant role around the world today. The atrocities in Darfur are being carried out by a group of government-funded and heavily armed militants known as the Janjaweed. These radical Arab groups are destroying the population of Darfur by looting and burning their villages, depriving them of their economic assets, contaminating their water supplies by throwing corpses into wells, massacring them, raping them and killing them. tormenting.
