Essay / Argumentative Essay on Marriage - 789
I have been with the same man, who is the father of my children for 6 years. He took responsibility for helping me raise my oldest who was 1 year old when we met. We talked about marriage, I pressed the subject many times over the last half decade and I always have two answers: ; it will happen when the time is right, OR won't fix something that isn't broken, which is the most common I would hear from him. Until recently, as I got older and saw exactly what my parents went through in their marriage, I understand why he feels that way. Today, when 90% of Americans eventually get married (Arnett, 2016 P.482), I could fall into that 10% unless one day I wake up and fall back into my fairy tale. What is marriage now? In my childhood mind, I see marriage as a beautiful wedding ceremony in a beautiful dress and an after-party full of food, drinks and dancing. But marriage is about more than just your wedding day; Marriage is a huge commitment for which you have to be 110% ready. Being still so young, I'm not ready for such a big commitment. Like everyone in this world, my loved ones and I have our problems, there are times when I wanted to give up and honestly I'm sure I would divorce by now
