Essay / Persuasive Essay on Sports - 1047
More and more money is being invested in schools for sports rather than academics and Americans are paying the price. In the United States, schools for learning have become more places for people to meet and do activities than for actual learning. Our generation and our country now worry more about the next great athlete who makes headlines than the child who excels in many different school subjects. Instead, our school districts should keep school as it really is: school. School is used to teach children many different subjects, but many children lose interest and go to school just to get by and continue to participate in the sport that matters most to them. Many schools like high school, parents should be required to take over and want this for their child. If they are willing to pay for club sports anyway, let them attend an after school club where competition is not sponsored from school to school and the kids can have fun . Schools should not be government funded to worry about children's participation in sport, and if it is so important for children to exercise, do it more equitably. Even if children participate in a physical education class for a set period of time, it is still better than emphasizing sports that take up so much time when they could be used as homework. It was quiet. There was a level of energy devoted to planning and lessons, tutoring after school. I saw such a difference. I believe this is how time set aside at school for learning and time set aside at home for participating in sports should be to create manners such as sportsmanship. The United States needs to understand that we are going in the wrong direction if education does not receive enough attention. The education taught can be passed down from generation to generation and it does not need to stop because people's values are more oriented towards a competitive game and not towards what can change the future. Future generations must take advantage of new technologies and continue to develop what has already been done so that other countries that take the time to educate their students do not let us pass and
