Essay / Critical review and perception of the performance of Stand by Me by Imagine Dragons
A composer is a person who writes music. On the other hand, an entertainer is a person who entertains an audience. The song Stand By Me was composed by Ben E. King (Benjamin Earl King) in 1961. After his death on April 30, 2015, the band Imagine Dragons paid him a special tribute at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards by performing his song Stand By Me. There was singing, electric guitars and tamarinds in the show. There was singing. The vocals were high, low, and there were also long notes sung by frontman/vocalist Dan Reynolds, alongside lead guitarist Wayne Sermon, drummer Daniel Platzman, and bassist Ben McKee. The dynamics were sometimes soft and loud. The song was sung at a medium tempo. The style of the song was Rhythm and Blues because it was upbeat and funky music. Say no to plagiarism. To me the lyrics mean that you can overcome anything in life as long as your loved ones are by your side. In the song it says "No I won't, be afraid as long as you stay by my side". Performing reminds me of my family and friends because they are the reasons why I do what I do and without their support I would do it. I was not determined to achieve my goals. Overall, I enjoyed listening to Imagine Dragon's Stand By Me performance because I could connect with it. I think the original version of Stand By Me by Ben E. King was incredible and very classy. But if I had to choose I would say the performance of Stand By Me by Imagine Dragon because it is more rhythmic and the vocals are more modern like.
