Essay / My role model - Tyler Joseph
An important role model in my life is singer and musician Tyler Joseph. He is the singer of his duo “Twenty One Pilots” and writes all of the group's songs. Their fans call themselves "the Clique" or "Clikkies", officially named the "World Skeleton Clique". In this clique, fans form a close-knit community and are very up close and personal with their music. There are over 10 million members/fans. The only thing that separates a clique member from a normal fan is their own self-labeling. A fan will generally consider themselves a member of a clique if they go out of their way to buy merchandise, are dedicated to the band and their music, or have liked the band for a long time, but anyone can be called that, independently of these things. No one, even Deep Web researchers, knows how Tyler and his other bandmate and drummer, Josh Dun, actually met, because they make up a story every time the question arises. This is also the same for their logo. Say no to plagiarism. Get a tailor-made essay on “Why Violent Video Games Should Not Be Banned”? When Tyler began writing his first official album, "Regional at Best", Josh was brought into the group. They continued to make more albums, and with that, more fans. Twenty One Pilots' fan base began to grow and the group became more and more recognized, even winning a Grammy for their album "Blurryface", which they took to the stage in their underwear. Twenty-one Pilots now have their latest album, “Trench,” which has a chance to be nominated for two Grammy Awards. Their single “Jumpsuit” from the album Trench is also nominated for song of the year. Previously, they have won as many awards as there are 8th graders (including nominations). Growing up, Tyler was an athletic and intelligent student. He lived (and still lives) in Columbus, Ohio. He played sports from a young age and took up basketball at the age of 6. His mother, Kelly Joseph, was the local basketball coach and was very supportive of Tyler and his basketball career. One Christmas, she bought Tyler a keyboard that he never used. It was stored in a cupboard and he had forgotten everything. Tyler says one day he got bored and went through his closet. He found the keyboard, took it out and started playing the preset songs. He said it occurred to him that there was a time when these song chunks didn't exist and someone just made them up, because they wanted to. He said to himself “I want to do that” and started writing little rhythms on the keyboard. He continued to do this and went to a vocal coach (which he says his mother forced him to do). When college came around, Tyler turned down the opportunity for a college basketball scholarship so he could pursue his music career. At the time, he was suffering from a lot of depression and anxiety and wrote his songs as an escape from it, as well as to use it as a basis. Josh and Tyler probably knew each other before Tyler's music career, but there is no information on this. This was around the time Josh was introduced into the band as a drummer and playing other background instruments. Since then, the two men have been inseparable and even travel together when they are not on tour. Tyler married his wife, Jenna Joseph (formerly Jenna Black) on March 8, 2015. The two support each other and Tyler says Jenna supports him and helps him when it comes to music. One of the songs from his new album.
