The opinions of one man and several others who signed the completed document attempt to question what is happening in their society. Slavery was something that these men were adamantly opposed to, they wanted their opinions to be heard, and so others could join them in an effort to rid their society of this inhumane act. The main issue conveyed throughout the article is of course that slavery should not be tolerated. The author indicates that everyone, regardless of the color of their skin, their religious practice or their profession, should be free. The content of this does not change depending on the reader. The message is simple, slavery should not be
