At first glance, from a general perspective, Vietnam's pharmaceutical industry currently has around 170 manufacturing companies (not to mention thousands of trading companies). Is this a positive sign that the pharmaceutical sector is growing? Yes, to a certain extent. However, if we look closely, domestic drug production is rich in numbers (accounting for 80%) but only accounts for 50% of revenue because most of the products are conventional dosage forms with low scientific content. The remaining 50% is attributed to high-priced imported products.
