Essay / Persuasive Essay on Beauty for Women - 775
“Beauty provokes harassment, says the law, but she looks through the eyes of men to decide what provokes it. » When we look at the media, we have the feeling that women are criticized and that men are less concerned about beauty and their bodies. A woman should not be justified as worthy of love or "real" beauty based on her outward appearance, but solely on the basis of a woman's individuality and confidence. As a child, I defined beauty as being “skinny.” Many women, men and children all over the world are judged because they don't find what the media claims is actually happening beautifully. The media plays a significant role in why, primarily, many women in society believe that their body image justifies what captivating elegance is. Although the media encourages many people to adopt a healthy lifestyle, society has no right to prescribe a specific notion of beauty to women. Can women stop associating themselves with a culture that makes them feel inadequate? It seems that when it comes to their bodies, women can't win. This was evident in the 2014 finale of The Biggest Loser, when Rachel Frederickson appeared on stage 155 pounds lighter than when the competition began. Although the premise of the show was based on losing an extreme amount of weight in a short period of time, American audiences were shocked when one of the contestants managed to do just that. Rachel consecutively declares: “I am happy now and proud of my achievements! » Not only did this spark the idea that women must be healthy to define beauty, but that they must lose weight to be considered attractive. Although in search of a healthy lifestyle, she causes the title of reluctance to find what, uniquely, is their inner beauty. However, from one ear...... middle of paper ......fr that she is today. Not only was she a model, but she goes around and gives young women more power than others might see them. No matter how tall a person is, height in no way justifies beauty. Size is just a shape. Size is just a label. Size is just one form of judgment. The media has a way of convincing many women that their bodies are not beautiful. Their smile is not beauty. Their intelligence is not beauty. The media seems to play the role of rules and everyone must follow them. Life is not a rule book, it is free and unique. Many reject the fact that you are you for a reason and nothing should be changed about that. That's Raven was a Disney series that inspired many teenagers to be more than what they are. It's time for women and the media to realize that "people come in all shapes and sizes, and they are all beautiful." Put this in your magazine.
