The main problems faced by Mobil Oil were reducing costs and improving management levels. Customer service issues included a lack of understanding of customer needs, poor business processes, and dysfunctional teamwork. Employee related issues related to personal development and reward/recognition systems. It is for this reason that a project was created with the aim of rethinking and simplifying business activities and workflow. The main problems that emerged from the reengineering project at the time were: - Lack of profit and customer focus throughout the organization.
