Her school honored Kayla and her book was published with a copy kept in the school library. In 2008, Kayla was a student in Cobalt Middle School's leadership class, where she contributed to numerous fundraisers. With a group of 15 students, Kayla was able to travel to Washington, DC, on a civic and educational field trip. From a young age, Kayla has been selfless, caring, charitable, empathetic and generous. So, she would dedicate many countless hours contributing to her community through several organizations such as the Salvation Army, serving meals to the homeless, preparing and serving Thanksgiving and Veterans Day dinners. fighters for many men and women who have served our country.
