His approach was a base of organized, disciplined, theoretical painting of known stories, and the style was line rather than color. The reason I chose this painting is because it draws my attention to the fact that these men are capturing women and raping them. But in today's society, you see reports every day in American newspapers about women being kidnapped, raped, and it makes me realize how messed up this whole thing is. Nicolas shows us these events that happen and we see this kind of thing in the films. The painting sends a powerful message through emotion, color and theory. This painting is so historic that they made a film based on the painting in 1962 and 2006. The next artist considered the best in France is a woman named Louise Mollin (1610-1696). His painting “Still Life with Cherries, Strawberries and Currants”, a famous painting that creates a simple, perfectly balanced composition and focuses attention on the objects. The sizes, shapes and texture of the fruit and container form international contrasts. His painting turns out to be simple but yet elegant and changes the way of art. The colors of the fruit are bold and focus solely on the fruit, rather than having a painting doing something with war, death and a story behind it. It changed art and you can see in today's painting something simple that can capture anyone.
