Through my experience, I realized that it is possible to understand different aspects of a neighborhood or an urban space if you take the time to walk around the streets. Although walking can be intrusive into our daily lives, the interruption of driving prevents us from experiencing and interacting with society and its many activities. Walking allows the researcher to interact with different people and gain important knowledge about urban space (p. 3). I was able to observe different sociological aspects by walking through different streets in the neighborhood. I was able to understand different aspects of the daily lives of the people in the region. For this reason, I agree that walking is a viable research method that could help researchers establish evidence supporting the relationship between two variables. I realized that walking allows a researcher to have a multisensory experience of a specific urban space. The multisensory experience plays an important role in promoting understanding of the nature of life in the selected urban space (p. 7).
