  • Essay / Global warming is not caused by human activities

The current level of carbon dioxide is approximately 398.03 parts per million (ppm). According to data recorded at the Mauna Loa Observatory in China, the level of atmospheric carbon dioxide has been increasing for ten years, with an average annual increase rate of 2.07 ppm. However, regardless of the current increase in carbon dioxide levels, previous studies indicate that the current rate of global warming is lower compared to historical data recorded over 450,000 years. This could be attributed to the lower temperatures recorded during the prehistoric period. For example, during the Jurassic period, almost 200,000 years ago, the average level of carbon dioxide was 1,800 parts per million. That's about 4.7 percent higher than current levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Additionally, the level of carbon dioxide was higher in the Paleozoic due to the existence of human habitats. Human activities such as deforestation, industrialization and the burning of fossil fuels are the main sources of carbon dioxide input....
