There must be an estimate of the cost and technical expertise required to maintain body cameras. TPD and city lawmakers should also consider what policy should be put in place in the event officers' equipment malfunctions or becomes ineffective in some way. For this reason, all stakeholders must understand that a change in body camera policy will not mitigate all opportunities for police misconduct or provide a catch-all for false allegations against officers by police citizens.
