Bad experiences are a part of life and everyone will go through them at some point in their life. Many people turn to some form of religion in times of difficulty; In this essay I will explore the guidance and support that Christian teachings provide to people in need. The best example of suffering in the Bible is that of Jesus. He made the ultimate sacrifice of death to save humanity from death because of their sins. This gives a comparison for someone who is suffering; This shows that as bad as this person's suffering was, it was nothing compared to the suffering Jesus felt. The Bible also says that we should be happy to suffer just like Jesus, “to be happy to share in the sufferings of Christ so that we will be happy and full of joy when Christ returns in glory.” When people insult you for following Christ, you are blessed, because the glorious spirit, the Spirit of God, is with you. This teaches us that we should be proud to be Christians and not worry about the suffering it may bring us. The resurrection of Jesus also gives hope to a person in need because it tells them that suffering is only temporary and will end. The Bible teaches that God controls the universe and everything that happens in it; it means that God has the power to relieve people of suffering and make them a better person because of it. This refers to a piece of literature that could help many people through difficult times in their lives, it is a poem called “Footprints”. It tells the story of a man whose life's dream is represented as a walk along a beach. He sees that walking with him is the Lord. In the most difficult times of his life, there is only one set of footprints and he asks the Lord why he was abandoned during his difficult times. The Lord responds, “During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, then I carried you.” This poem shows that he who believes in Christ will never be alone and will always be helped in his suffering. This could be of great help to people in need as it shows, once again, that there is an end to suffering and that with God's help, people can get through times of need. 'test..
