The experience of Chinese immigration went through difficult times, under English domination. They struggled to survive through racism, hard work, and acceptance. Although many came to Canada to make their lives and those of their children successful and secure. It couldn't just be given away until adversity gave them the life they hoped for one day. By early 1858, the Chinese community had begun to come to different parts of Canada because of the push and pull factors that had brought them here. Due to the lack of workers in the British Columbia region, the Chinese were able to obtain jobs in the gold mines. Most Chinese were asked to build roads, clear areas and build highways, but were poorly paid due to racism. The Chinese today are considered one of the most successful races in Canada due to the push and pull factors they faced, the racism that caused them to decline, and the Chinese community today 'today. Before the Chinese arrived in Canada, problems had arisen in their country of origin.
