Essay / My Philosophies of Education - 1265
Reread the “Philosophies of Education” section. Next, list your personal beliefs about learning, learners, and teaching. Then, based on the list, write a two-page description of your philosophy of education as it currently exists. After reading the Philosophies of Education section, I believe that learning, learners and teaching should be interactive, that students learn best when their lessons are active, challenging and relevant to their world and that they learn through experience. Instruction would include fewer textbooks, more hands-on activities and the use of technology in the classroom. To be an effective teacher we need to understand how children learn and realize that not everyone fits into the same mold nor should we expect them to, they need to think for themselves and draw their own conclusions. Some teaching strategies may work well for one student in the class, but may not work for everyone. Therefore, our teaching and the curriculum used must be flexible to meet the needs of all.
