Our ancestors wanted religion to be a part of our daily lives; many aspects of our society have traces of faith and religion. They incorporated God into many things, like dollar bills and government documents. Although America proclaims itself a nation that lives by the well-known saying “In God We Trust,” America has become a secular nation abandoning its Christian roots. God was the foundation of America at the time of its creation. Religion is essential to life and America has begun to move away from it. Despite Americans' efforts to discredit religion, our daily lives reflect religion. “In 2011, an Associated Press poll found that 8 in 10 Americans believed in angels – and even 4 in 10 never went to church” (TM Luhrman A27). It is programmed into us to have faith in the invisible. “Researchers like anthropologist Pascal Boyer, author of “Religion Explained: The Evolutionary Origin of Religious Thought” and psychologist Justin L. Barrett, author of “Why Do We Believe in God?” argue that the fear of being eaten by a lion or killed by a man who wanted your business shaped the way our minds evolved. Our hunter-gatherer ancestors were more likely to survive if they interpreted an ambiguous noise as that of a predator. Sure, most of the time it was the wind, but if there was real danger, people who worried about it were more likely to survive. (Luhrman A27). Some people believe that our tendency to seek unseen things has led us to believe in an invisible agent, or God. Religious practices such as prayer and Bible reading were once integrated into daily school activities, but are now considered inappropriate in schools that do not qualify as being involved in crime. in children and adolescents- can be reversed by simply readopting the values ​​of our ancestors and beginning to reincorporate religion into our lives as it once was.
