  • Essay / A Brief Research on Christian Science - 782

Christian ScienceWhat is Christian Science? Who is Mary Baker Eddy? Where does Christian Science come from? Is Christian Science like Scientology? What are the beliefs of Christian Science? Why are we here and where do we go when we die? These questions may arise when you hear Christian Science. Christian Science is unique in its own way, it may not seem as amazing as other religions, but Christian Science is truly amazing overall. Some people call Christian Science non-Christian or a cult, but that is not true. Christian Science is a religion that formed more slowly than other religions, but is still a good religion. Christian Science is a religion that helps you understand God, Jesus Christ, good and evil, salvation, life and death, and much more. “Anyone can find God to be a 'very present help in trouble'” (Ps. 46:1 quoted in “What is Christian Science?”). In every religion there is a heart that holds it together and for Christian Science it would be love and all the feelings you get from God. Christian Science is a religion that focuses primarily on healing, this is what it practices and works on, its healing abilities. Christian Scientists are working to heal them to become more like God. God is able to heal all sickness, sin, disease, and even death. Christian Science was founded by Mary Baker Eddy, Massachusetts, USA, in 1879. In 1866, Mary Baker Eddy began studying and continued for many years. In 1875, Mary Baker Eddy published a book called Science and Health with a Key to the Scriptures. This book was about healing and science, this book is used as a sacred text. When God healed people as He did, "Mary Baker Eddy said, 'these mighty works are not supernatural, but supremely natural...'" ...... middle of paper .... .. which really exists, nothing else. There is no death, because humans are immortal spirits. Christian Science is a religion that allows you to understand God, Jesus and everything. Christian Science was founded in 1879 by Mary Baker Eddy, who studied health and science. Her book that she wrote “Science and Health with the Key to the Scriptures” is used as one of the sacred texts of Christian Science. Christian Science has nothing to do with Scientology, they are completely different religions. Christian Scientists believe in an all-powerful God and in the authority and inspiration of the Bible, and view God as principle, soul, spirit, life, truth, and love. Christian Scientists believe that we are not real, that heaven and hell do not exist, and believing that everything is real is wrong. There is no death because we are immortal spirits, God is the only one who truly exists.
