  • Essay / The Chronicles of Narnia: Book Report - 1735

The Chronicles of Narnia: Book Report Digory and Polly were good friends. They have both lived in England all their lives. One day they were playing when Polly wanted to show Digory her secret place. It was in his attic. She hid a lot of things there. She hid fruits and snacks to eat and lots of other things to eat. Digory noticed a door on the other side of the attic. Back then, the houses were connected together and they thought that if they climbed through the rafters and opened the door, they could sneak into one house and into the next, and so on. The reason for all this was that one of the houses further away was abandoned. So off they went, one rafter at a time. They had to stay extremely quiet because if anyone saw them, they would think it was a thief. They opened the door and started on the next house. After a while, they came to the one they thought was abandoned, but after opening the door and seeing all the books, they knew they were wrong. They were in the forbidden office. It was Uncle Andrews' private room. It seemed like no one was in the room, so they decided to look around. Polly noticed that there were several different types of rings on the table. Suddenly Digory saw someone get up from the chair, it was Uncle Andrew. He told Polly not to touch the rings, but it was too late. She disappeared into thin air. Digory was confused. He wondered what the rings were for. Did Polly just disappear or did she go to a faraway land? Uncle Andrew explained how one ring would take you to this country and the other would bring you back. Uncle Andrew wasn't yet sure if it would work because the only things that came in before were guinea pigs. Digory put two rings in each pocket with gloves. (so that it doesn't disappear). Two were for Polly and two for him. He put on the missing ring and felt funny as he quickly headed towards the new land. It was as if he was swimming. He swam up to see where the water was going. He came out of the water and saw a beautiful forest. He noticed guinea pigs and in the distance a girl leaning against a tree. They noticed that there were many more puddles like the ones they were coming out of all over the woods. They were going to explore the other puddles, but wanted to make sure they could return first. They walked towards a puddle, but it was shallow. They realized that ...... in the middle of a paper ...... about the wonders of the apple. She told him that just one bite would allow you to live forever. Digory wasn't so sure. He ran towards Polly and Fledge. He shouted, get ready to leave. Just before Digory goes after the witch, she tells him not to let the lion have an immortal life when you can. At that point, Digory wasn't sure what he was doing was right. They left for Narnia, the land where the lion lives. Thelion told them to throw him in the mud. Digory did it and it grew into a beautiful tree. The lion explained to him how the tree would protect them from the witch. Digory mentioned that she ate an apple. Then the lion thought for a moment and said that she would spend the rest of her days practicing her magic and leave us alone. Digory, Polly and Uncle Andrew returned home. Digory still had an apple from the tree he planted in Narnia and he gave it to his poor old mother. The next day, Digory heard the doctor say it was a miracle. Digory planted the seed in the backyard. She grew very big, but the apples had no power. When Digory was older and the tree was cut down, he made it into a table or..
