Teen suicide is one of the worst misfortunes imaginable for victims and their loved ones. When a person between the ages of fifteen and twenty-four intentionally ends their life, it is considered adolescent suicide. It is a serious health problem that can affect anyone today and will continue to affect adolescents. There are many causes or reasons why people decide to do this, but it is one hundred percent preventable. There is a wonderful suicide prevention organization that can be easily started at any school, so I would like to start one at a school near me. It should be clear to all adolescents that suicide is not necessarily the answer, and that there are people willing to help if necessary. Teen suicide is the third leading cause of death among people aged fifteen to twenty-four (Caruso). For something that can be avoided at all costs, this is a high ranking. This is a public concern because it can happen to anyone. If this happens to someone, everyone around them can be negatively affected. Most people are uncomfortable with the topic of suicide (suicide prevention). But it’s a subject that you need to know about because it’s growing. Simple things like watching for warning signs or making sure there is open communication can save a loved one's life (Caruso). This should remain a public concern because it is something that can happen to anyone but can be easily stopped. Luckily, I've never lost anyone to suicide, but that doesn't mean this topic shouldn't be important to me.
