My initial interest and motivation to become a nurse and take care of people began at the age of eighteen, when I unfortunately lost my mother, and then immediately took on the responsibility of taking care of my brothers and sisters. I then applied for the Nursing Access Program with units including Health and Social Care Level 3, Functional Maths Skills. Level 2, Equality and Diversity in Healthcare and Approaches to Health, which helped me further improve my healthcare knowledge. My previous experience demonstrates how well suited my transferable skills are to a career in adult nursing. For over fifteen years, my skills, knowledge and experience have enabled me to care for mentally vulnerable people and care for adults with varying degrees of psychological problems. Adult nursing is a career where there is progressive training. As stated previously, I am passionate about my continued professional development and learning always appeals to me. Adult nursing is a very demanding career that brings new challenges daily and I am aware of the risk and responsibility, but it also comes with many rewards and desired satisfaction.
