Battle Between Good and Evil in Dr. FaustusThe story of Dr. Faustus represents the constant battle between good and evil. Every day we are faced with a choice between the two, even if it seems like there is no solution. Faust, in the story Dr. Faustus, represents those who choose to stoop to a lower level to get what they want. The good angel and the bad angel are the moral values ​​that divide Faust's soul, forcing him to make a decision that can affect his future. The story of Dr. Faustus is a great example of how one bad decision can cause eternal burning. In the story of Dr. Faustus, a battle between good and evil takes place. Faust is a man who desperately needs power and control. He wants to do whatever he wants and control whatever he wants to control. This is where Mephistopheles, a blood-sucking devil, appears, attacking Foust and his confusing soul. Mephistopheles was in heaven and was expelled. His soul burns and he desperately seeks to take Foust's soul with him. Misery loves company. Faustus wants power when he says "I charge you to wait for me while I live. To do whatever Faustus commands." (Act 1, scene 2, lines 33-34). While Faustus reclaims his power, Mephistopheles is miserable in hell. He wants Faust's soul and the two make a trade. Meanwhile, the good angel appears. The good angel tries to convince Faust to abandon this madness, because it is the Bible he should read, rather than the magic book. When it seems that the angels have reached Faust, the demons appear. It is an insult to the evil angels to hear the name of Christ in their presence. While the good angels tell him to repent, the bad angels make him taste pure hell. (p48) They bring out the seven deadly sins. (48) Lucifer, in the meantime, has worked his magic, and Faust signs the dotted line. It's over. The seven deadly sins represent the agony of hell. Faust has now become the eighth. He has now become as evil and manipulative as Mephistopheles. He was now damned forever. Temptation is society's worst enemy.
