    The way taxpayer dollars are already being spent does not cover a sufficient amount of the needs of the American people. With funds for education and veterans among the lowest, and with the likelihood that space exploration will harm these shallow funds, money must be used for ethical and humane sources – not extraterrestrials. The state of the U.S. economy is already unsatisfactory, and that leaves no room for more rockets into space or to feel better about oneself and potentially "good in space" (Source A). National funds are rare. : Education, training, employment, and social services all receive only four cents of every taxpayer dollar, and veterans' benefits and services receive only three cents (source C). For the education fund, this leaves very little room for improvement within the public school system, leaving students with outdated textbooks, unhealthy school meals, and even horrible, inadequate salaries for teachers and principals who work hard.
