    Education problems are related to funding, teacher quality and the status of the teaching profession, student academic performance and standardized testing, racial imbalances and equal educational opportunities. Lack of parental involvement also appears to be a problem for education. Parents' involvement in their child's education allows them to feel good about themselves. They generally have higher grades; higher scores on standardized tests, classroom assessments, and arriving at school permanently. It is important to have quality teachers who care about students and who encourage parents about the importance of being involved in their child's education. The No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act took effect in 2002; it has had a broad impact on American public school classrooms. Educational issues should be on the government agenda because education is the most expensive of all state and local functions. Local governments spend a larger portion of their budget on education than state government. Local educators know the specific needs of their students much better than the state. The government decides what qualifications teachers must have, what types of rates and taxes must be levied for education, and many other decisions that affect the life of every child in America, so that every child can receive the same education. The government provides grants, loans and scholarships for higher education, including teaching, research and social service activities of universities, as well as in the field of teaching. Higher education is therefore very important for national economies. All students should have access to a rigorous and comprehensive education that includes critical thinking, problem solving, a high level of common...... middle of paper ...... children learn in educational schools . Schools need a legislature willing to work as a team to resolve issues with educators, with mutual respect and concern. Most public schools are administered by local governments; overall funding comes from local, state and federal governments. Policies for each stage are set by board members, elected under local jurisdiction. The benefits to the community are to increase partnership to achieve goals (e.g. education goals), utilize schools' expertise, share resources, contribute to the development/redevelopment of school property. Disadvantages for the community are that the community responds to all work carried out under the permit, implements programs in a wider area, manages more cooperative agreements if there is more than one school under the jurisdiction that wishes to associate.
