Unfortunately, some of these aspects are statuses that we cannot control; this is how we were born. Two statuses used to classify people are gender and race. These are two things we were born into, we as humans had no choice in what we wanted to be born into. These two statuses can have a major impact on a person's life when it comes to things as simple as finding a job or what society expects of them when they are at home. Gender and race both have a serious effect on social stratification and can predetermine where a person might fit into society. On the other hand, there have been great improvements in the way society perceives these two statuses from the past until today.
