French doctors and journalists created Médecins Sans Frontières or also known as Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) in 1971, MSF is identified as “an international humanitarian medical organization”. MSF provides services and aid to populations in certain regions that have experienced dramatic wars, natural disasters or even communities that do not have healthcare. “MSF helps anyone in need, regardless of race, political beliefs or religion. » Over the past 43 years, MSF has supported millions of people who have all benefited from a better quality of life thanks to MSF's help. “The main objective of the project is to provide access to health care to a completely ignored and underserved population. Most of the people we treat have never seen a doctor before. I think the impact on the community is huge,” says Rebeckah Piotrowski, deputy field coordinator in Gambella province, western Ethiopia. Over the past 43 years, MSF has helped many countries and individuals in desperate need of help; One such event includes the tragic earthquake that struck Haiti on January 12, 2010. The 7.0 magnitude earthquake killed more than 100,000 people and destroyed or severely damaged an estimated 250,000 residences and 30 000 commercial buildings. The Haitians who survived this natural disaster quickly tried to flee to Brazil, which was the best choice for them at the time. Doctors Without Borders offered humanitarian aid to Haitian asylum seekers who were in a small town called Tabatinga; a state in Amazonas, Brazil.
