GENESIS:1-2: God simply created everything, the heavens and the earth. The created teaches us that God is creative and controls everything. Then he created man in his image, and told him to be fruitful. He provided everything we and the animals needed to live. There was a morning and an evening on the sixth day. On the seventh and final day of creation, God rested. I think that means we need rest too. He created a helper for man, then He created a woman from Adam's rib. God gave the gift of marriage to Adam and Eve. They were both naked and felt no shame.3-5. The serpent asked Eve if God had really said that they could not eat from any tree in the garden. Eve said we can eat fruit but not from the middle tree. Satan also tries to make Eve believe that sin is a good thing. Eve sins so they are both ashamed of their nudity. Adam blames Eve for sin when God asked him to do so. God drives them out of the garden. This introduces good and evil into the world. Eve gave birth to Cain and Abel. Adam and Eve had to work for certain things now, unlike the garden. Cain kills Abel out of jealousy. It says in 4:17, Cain has a wife??? Where does she come from? Was it his sister or his cousin, because it is said that God told Adam and Eve to fill the earth. So were they related? Has many names and ages that connect Adam to Noah. How could these people live so long? After Noah was 500 years old, he became the father of Shem, Ham and Japheth. I think it claims that all humanity is connected. Humanity is a family of one flesh, one blood.6-11: The “son of God” came down and married daughters. Some believe they were fallen angels, but angels can marry or have relationships. The Lord gave Noah 120 years to change. Then Noah builds the ark. He tells her to take 2 of each animal, a male and a partner. He tells him that in seven days there will be rain and a flood. Was the flood local or universal, I think we talked about it enough in class. After 40 days, Noah sent the bird out and it came back with a positive report..
