Essay / Strengths and Weaknesses Essay - 1460
My greatest strength is extroversion. According to (Cherry, 2016), extroversion indicates how talkative and social a person is. They are known to be full of positivity and always very outgoing. I couldn't agree less on this point. I'm known for being one of the most outgoing people. Back when I was in high school, I joined many clubs, including the Interact Club, a soccer club, and many others. I also won the title of “Most Outstanding Interactor of the Year”. I volunteered to be the mascot for a carnival we organized for refugees (see appendix 1-2). In addition to this, Starbucks was celebrating its 17th anniversary and they were organizing a party for underprivileged children and I volunteered to play for them and be the entertainer for the day (see appendix 5). It does, however, show how outgoing I am since I was the entertainer in front of a lot of people. This trait is actually very applicable in a workplace. For example, a very extroverted person tends to talk more and can therefore convey messages very easily. We extroverts are goals. We tend to have high energy levels, very enthusiastic and assertive. According to (George, Helson & John, 2011), extroverts should seek more joy and feel fewer obstacles in social interactions. They would always gravitate toward activities that lead to higher status and avoid those that lead to higher status.
