Essay / The effects of video games on the brain - 656
How do you think video games can help you? This is actually one of the hardest questions to answer. It's a real mystery to most people. They can help and harm you in different ways. Researchers have been trying to find the answer for many years now. They discovered that from 2004 to the present, so many people have been playing video games that we have accumulated 50 billion hours of gameplay in total, which is almost 5.9 million years of gaming time. total. It's been so long that it looks like the first settlers, like Mesopotamia, were playing video games! There are many types of video games, but here are some examples I've found: violent, prosocial, productive, and horror. Violent games are most likely the ones that people encourage you not to play, as they can cause huge amounts of built-up aggression over the time you play these games. They can also sometimes cause antisocial disorders and many negative effects in your mind. The only good effect is that it gives you good aiming skills for throwing or hitting or any other violent game you play. Some violent games include Call of Duty, Halo and some other violent games. Then there's the horror. These are games that will probably give you nightmares at night. Like horror films, they are the least recommended. They can almost have the same effect as violent games, but you will think about them for a long time (maybe forever). Another effect is that if you play the game over and over again, you will probably get used to this type of games and be good at it, which is the only good effect. Horror games include: Slender, Amnesia, etc. There are also productive games. These games are most likely to be useful for learning skills like having a better image...... middle of paper .......
