Essay / Orange Crime - 1809
The New Organized CrimeOrganized crime is often referred to as a national or local group or organization led by professional criminals whose motive is to be heavily involved in illegal or criminal activities. After taking this course, I learned within myself a new definition of what organized crime is. I believe that organized crime should be redefined to include: any national or local group, organization or person commenting on, involving or being part of any illegal activity; terrorism, cybercrime, gang activities and financial crimes. Organized crime will also be defined by the exchange of money or persuasion of people for political opinions, votes, proposals or anything that involves politicians for personal gain in a political manner. Organized crime would not only be categorized for criminals or groups, but also for individuals who violate the law and politicians who pay for their votes or for their political opinions and advertising. Let's talk about lobbying and its weight in the organized crime pool. Lobbying involves exchanging money with government officials in response to influencing decisions or political opinions that are in their favor. Lobbyists can change public opinion through heavy advertising campaigns. Lobbying distorts what the member of Congress actually stands for or believes in, and that is also corruption. For example, a multi-million dollar company may pay for a government official to go to Congress to pass a law that will help the lower class struggle even more and make it harder for them to expand their business. or his company. I will make this whole lobbying scam illegal. This change in the criminal spectrum will reduce corruption in our government...... middle of paper...... it is necessary. A doctor may also file a claim stating that he or she provided care but did not actually make any money from a doctor's falsified claim. There are new ways to get scammed into getting health insurance that isn't affordable. Medical discount cards are one example. They are only acquired through the Internet or television and claim to cover things like vision or dental care, but offer no medical benefits. Organized crime as a whole is very complex. There are so many involvements in organized crime. I believe that certain elements should be added to the definition of each individual crime so that there are no loopholes preventing the necessary sanctions from being avoided. I believe that all organized crime activities are worth jail or prison time because they deprive people of property, well-being, money and should not be taken lightly..
