  • Essay / Miracles - 722

Miracles happen; Personally, I think it is a test of life to realize what is important in life. What will I face today? First of all, my parents have their own company called Rainbow Vacuum. They've been doing this for twenty-nine years. It was the day after my twelfth birthday and the day before a concert I was looking forward to going to. Well, my dad fixed the ladies vacuum cleaner and wanted to collect the customer's money before going to a concert the next day for my birthday present. It was late in the evening around seven and the customer didn't like driving after a certain time, so my dad offered to deliver the vacuum cleaner to her house. I really wanted to go riding with him but he told me no because it was late and he had to help mom with my brothers. After putting my two brothers to sleep, on August 11, 1999, my mother received a call from the Terrebonne General Medical Center. The nurse told my mother that my father had been in a serious car accident and that she needed to go to the hospital immediately to sign the release forms so he could be treated. At that time, she didn't think and replied, "Tell him to call when he leaves." The nurse said, "Madam, you don't understand, you really have to come now." » “The car is wrecked and your husband needs medical attention.” “A sixteen-year-old boy drove down Prospect Road and hit your husband in a head-on collision; it took the jaws of life to get him out of the car after nearly two hours. She called the neighbor to come check on us while she went to the hospital to see what was happening. She told me I could stay up for updates and call my grandparents after she left. Well the doctor met my mother in the waiting room with a piece of paper with a quick drawing of a person in mind... middle of paper... it was too sweet to eat the last bite but I tried anyway as I tried to swallow the rest. There was a huge piece of pecan in that bite and lodged in my throat, I started choking in my room. I tried drinking the glass of milk to force it down but it didn't work. At this point I couldn't scream, so I get out of bed and see myself in my mirror, seeing that I'm red and slowly turning blue. I grabbed the chair and started the Heimlich, finally after about ten tries the pecan came out. I was able to breathe again and was on a gentle diet for about a week because of my sore throat. In conclusion, everything happens for a reason even if sometimes it doesn't end well, but when it has a positive ending, I see it as a miracle. . This reminds me of a saying: “Live well, love much, and laugh often.” Reason to reflect on the life lessons we face in the world we live in.
