The survey will be anonymous. The first part of the survey will ask questions to help me determine different Facebook usage patterns based on frequency of status updates, purpose of status updates, frequency usage of chat to connect with others, activity in Facebook groups or pages, and frequency of use. to view the news feed. For the status updates section, students will indicate how often they post status updates (within a week) as well as the purpose of their posts or the content of their posts. Next, students will indicate how often they use Facebook's chat feature to connect with other people, and how many people they connect with in a day. Next, students will provide information about their other activities on Facebook, from simply scrolling through the News Feed to actively participating in groups or pages. I hope to find different patterns in UCSB students' use of Facebook. For example, a pattern might be those who frequently post status updates, but do not connect with others through Facebook. The second part will include the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale, which is a commonly used test to determine self-esteem. His responses ranged on a four-point scale, from strongly disagree to strongly agree. Each response to each item will be scored appropriately to result in a score of 0 to 30 to determine self-esteem. Scores below 15 will suggest low self-esteem, a score of 15 to 25 will indicate normal.
