Essay / Genocide in the Democratic Republic of Congo - 794
Genocide is the deliberate and systematic extermination or destruction of a racial, national, political and cultural group. Genocide is tolerated everywhere because almost no one knows about the problem or talks about it. For example, the Democratic Republic of Congo has been in danger since 1996. Genocide also occurs because of hatred and different points of view. This problem of genocide underway or about to occur in the DRC is an example of tolerance and intolerance of the people. Congo is the third largest country in Africa, home to more than 68 million people. The Congo has been called "Africa's World War" because, according to the DRC's genocide consciousness, the Congo experienced an invasion known as Colton's War. In Congo there have been "wars", but throughout these wars and even after, there have been conflicts like rape/sexual violence, destruction, death, child labor, diseases, poverty and torture. There have been more than five million people who have died, including children, women and men in Congo, as the Eastern Congo initiative states, because of "wars" and other conflicts. The Democratic Republic of Congo is experiencing the deadliest conflict since the Second World War. According to the Union to End the Genocide in Congo, minerals have a huge impact because they are also used as weapons. Minerals like gold and tin are mined by children and they use them to contribute to more campaigns and enrich political leaders and warlords. Genocide is not something rare or something that happens everywhere, but when it does appear, it is difficult to get rid of. Congo is at very high risk of genocide. Even though wars took place between 1996 and 2003, Congo continues to experience numerous conflicts. There are so many things happening and happening middle of paper......it needs military reforms, it needs electoral reforms, it needs more people investigating crime, shelter and a lot of support. It is sad to see how Africa's second largest country is at risk of genocide, but we must help these innocent children and adults who have done nothing wrong. Genocide is a sad thing because it's like the holocaust and more, and people are suffering from something we know we can change. Help us get rid of this very close risk of genocide in the DRC!
