  • Essay / Abortion: more harm than good - 1204

In today's society, abortion is receiving more attention than ever. After the president banned partial-birth abortion, controversy arose on all sides of the table dating back to Roe v. Wade. Today, many women believe that they should have the right to choose whether or not to bring life into this world. These women feel that abortion will provide them with a sense of relief. What many of these pro-choice people don't realize is that abortion causes more destruction than relief. Mothers who have chosen to abort their babies do not realize the post-abortion destruction that abortion causes. These mothers see it as a relief from having to give birth to an unwanted child. Yes, if a woman has an abortion, she won't have to give birth to an unwanted baby, but is that really a relief? Abortion has many destructive effects. Loads of murder, emotional and psychological effects as well as medical problems. So now you think abortion is not murder, the baby isn't even born yet. Well, abortion is murder. In the United States, an innocent human life is brutally murdered every 22 seconds. That’s a lot of babies being killed every day, and that’s just in the United States. In 1981, during a Senate Judiciary subcommittee, the hearing focused on “When a Human Life Begins.” A group of internationally renowned geneticists and biologists appeared before this committee. Dr. Hymie Gordon and all the other members of the group agreed that “by all standards of modern molecular biology, life is present from the moment of conception” (Dr. Hymie Gordon). Former abortionist David Brewer MD says: “My heart is numb again. ..... middle of paper ......d rape or incest. Those who gave an opinion 90 percent said they would discourage other victims of sexual violence from having an abortion" (Reardon, Victims and Victors) Among the women in the survey who had a baby, none expressed of regret over her choice. A woman victim of sexual violence declares: “What rape takes from a woman, abortion cannot restore” In today's world, abortion is considered a. back-up mechanism. Young women turn to abortion to escape responsibility for their actions or the actions imposed on them. In the long run, abortion only causes destruction not only to the unborn baby. of the aborting mother. Abortion causes more destruction than relief..
