During my undergraduate studies, I was a brilliant student. I participated in many program activities as well as joint program activities. I was a good football, cricket and tag of war player. I was an active donor in the university's blood donation society. I have donated blood several times and I am proud of it and am willing to donate it again if necessary. I carried out my final year thesis project on “Characteristics of Wagon Drivers of Lahore, Pakistan” with a group of four members in which I was chosen as the group leader. Lahore is the provincial headquarters of the Punjab province, which is the largest province of Pakistan in terms of population. I feel fortunate to have completed my final year thesis project under the supervision of Professor of Engineering Dr. Tanveer Iqbal Qayyum, known as “the founder of transportation engineering in Pakistan”. Under his supervision, I learned a lot about transportation engineering. The fundamental objective of our project was to determine the characteristics of drivers and, based on these characteristics, how to overcome accidents. Because a driver is not only responsible for the safety of his life and that of passengers but he is also responsible for the safety of other road users. In the final thesis project, our group visited all the roads of Lahore and we interviewed wagon divers and asked different questions. For example their monthly income, their education, their driving license, the behavior of the police towards them, etc. We also visited different government departments. We conducted a survey for almost six months and collected all the necessary data. Ultimately, the hard work paid off and I received an A+ grade in my final presentation. At that time, I decided to select transportation engineering for higher studies because transportation engineering has a bright future in Pakistan. Say no to plagiarism. I have many friends and we formed a society that fought against drug addiction. We collect funds and spend them for the welfare of society with complete honesty. I left that company because I went for higher studies to Lahore. I approach people with positive behavior. During my graduate studies, I met different people from different regions, cultures and traditions. In future it will help me to interact with people from other regions or countries. Why Transportation EngineeringI would like to apply for a master's degree in Transportation Engineering because nowadays transportation engineering plays a role key in human life and the economy of different countries of the world. My motto is to work for the good of society as well as my country. To become a good and expert transportation engineer and designer, it is necessary for me to gain deeper theoretical and practical knowledge about transportation engineering. During my studies, I will try to find the best of everything. I hope that I will achieve my goal and objectives during my higher education and become a good transportation engineer and designer. Higher education will give me the chance to perfect myabilities. I will do my best to transfer my knowledge to other people in my company. Thus, it will help me become a good human being as well as a useful citizen for my society as well as my country. It has become an inseparable part of human life. As we all know, human life cannot survive without natural resources. But when we see the geography of the earth, it's not the same. In some areas there are mountains. In some areas, the land is flat. So, for the transportation of natural resources, we need roads. Without roads, we might be able to transport natural resources, but the benefit from those resources would be less. The absence of roads can be the cause of the lack of infrastructure. For example, if a village is located in a mountainous region and the population of the village is more, then it is the responsibility of the government to provide all the facilities for example health facilities, educational facilities, etc. but a government cannot provide all these facilities unless they have built good roads. Availability of roads ensures smooth transportation of all materials required for construction in less time without any danger or damage. By using these routes, locals can transport local products to the global market and earn money at lower prices. Good roads and transportation system also reduce transportation time. In this way, the country's economy will grow rapidly. Let us take an example if a region “A” produces a particular good and this particular good is sought by the inhabitants of another region “B”. The cost of a particular good then depends entirely on the distance between them, the mode of transport and the condition of the road. If the road condition is excellent then it will be available at low cost in less time at point “B” and if the road condition is poor then it will be available at higher cost and more time will be required to transport the product in question. good at point “B”. Good roads and transportation system also leads to an increase in tourism which is one of the important factors in the economy of any country or region. Let me take the example of my region, Gilgit Baltistan. There are ten districts in Gilgit Baltistan. The most beautiful neighborhood among them is Astore. But tourists are turning to the Hunza district. The reason is that the road leading to Hunza, known as the “Karakorum Road” abbreviated KKH, is in excellent condition. The road was built by a Chinese company and has maintained high quality. Driving is very smooth while the condition of other roads is very worse and dangerous. Therefore, few tourists visit other parts of the region. Today, eighty percent of the inhabitants of Hunza district are linked to tourism. Good roads and a good transportation system also improve safety. One of the reasons why I chose transportation engineering is the “China-Pakistan Economic Corridor”, briefly known to me as CPEC. CPEC is a project between China and Pakistan. According to this project, new roads and power projects will be constructed. The main objective of CPEC is to build new roads and form a transport system for transporting goods from China and Pakistan to other parts of the world. Therefore, it will create employment opportunities for Pakistanis, especially for the young generation like me. Once I got admission in one of the best engineering universities in Bangladesh, my intention was to gain in-depth knowledge rather than just getting marks. AtDuring my undergraduate studies over the past four years, the excellent course structure coupled with high academic standards further stimulated my interest in the field of civil engineering. Among the programs offered by my university, I found that transportation engineering was the best fit for me. I have always been fascinated by roads and traffic. But what made me more interested in this field was the current unrest in the transport sector in Bangladesh. As Bangladesh is a densely populated country with insufficient number of roads and public transport, the transport system is an unsystematic sector. There are untrained drivers and dangerous, poor roads. The transport management system is not efficient. Accidental deaths due to road accidents are very common. These accidents and accidental deaths are common both on highways leading to large cities and even small towns. To continue economic progress, the transportation system must be efficient. Transportation system must be faster, efficient and, above all, safe for everyone. All these factors explain my decision to make transportation engineering my future career path. Undergraduate Studies Keeping this thought in mind, I wrote my undergraduate thesis on transportation engineering. I chose my topic on road safety. The work was to find out the main reasons for distracted drivers in Dhaka city. As I had no financial or technological support from the university, I had to do the work myself. This has been done on a small scale, but if it can be done on a larger scale, it will surely have an impact on the overall transport safety scenario in Bangladesh. Using my problem-solving skills, I made my own DIY equipment to capture data from the field and then analyzed it using software. After data collection and analysis, we discovered some of the most common and dominant reasons for driver distraction. What I saw in the field and later from the analyzed data was a clear indication of how distracted drivers are while driving and the risk this poses to road users. As an undergraduate, I tried my best to expose myself to research work in order to take initiative in this direction and gain insight into the field of transportation engineering. At this point in my academic career, I realize that my undergraduate studies gave me what is only a glimpse into this field and that there is so much more to explore and create in this field. . I want to explore a lot more in this area. I want to know more about transport management system, road safety and traffic operation. If I get a chance, I want to learn more about the intelligent transportation system. In the future, I want to work in the field of transportation engineering in my country and keep my mark in solving current transportation problems. I want to know how we can accommodate more vehicles on my country's increasingly densely populated roads. The traffic management system should be competent enough to handle so much pressure. I want to learn ways to make our roads safer and adapt innovative ideas. I believe that quality higher education from a university in a developed world will help me achieve this goal. My Personality If someone asks me how I am as a person, I would say that I am intelligent, active, confident and intelligent. One of my most distinctive characteristics is the..
